Vegas bound!

We found a killer deal on Southwest Vacations from Boise to Vegas for our birthdays again this year! We're staying at Planet Hollywood from 4/25/09 to 4/27/09 (sorry, Shauna and Chris....we really want to be at your wedding....we didn't even think about the fact that this was the date of your wedding until after we reserved the tickets. eek!).

Who wants to join us? Consider this our bachelor/bachelorette parties, if you will....

Seriously, is there any better way to spend your 30th and 31st birthdays? I think not! Bring it!

Registries

After much thought, we decided to register at Lowes.com and Target. Obviously, we don't want you to feel obliged, but everyone said we have to register, so we did.

On another note, we ordered invitations yesterday and picked out our liturgy for the big day!

1) My friend, Jamie, was in town for the weekend from (near) San Jose and helped a million times over with the flowers! Hooray! I was going t post photos, but I don't want to ruin every surprise I come up with....

2) I made a special veil. Nothing special, but no telling what it entails...I like to think it will be entertaining for some/most?

3) I officially received word tonight from my former pastor, Freda Scales, that she will officiate at our wedding! I cannot even begin to explain how excited I am to have her be present and be our Officiant!

Soooo my mom was going to make my dress....

...but we decided to go dress shopping to make sure we had the right color and style and what not for the dress she would make for me. So my mom, my sister, and I went out today to a little shop in Boise to check things out. I knew it would be kind of hard - I had a list of things I didn't want - no strapless dresses, no trains, and no crazy embellishments. It turns out that those are kind of hard to find in the wedding dress shops. Anyway, the ladies at Bridal Couture were super nice and awesome and suggested that I get a bridesmaid dress but order it in white or ivory. I found one I liked and compared to every dress I tried on thereafter. I think I decided right when I tried it on that it's what I wanted but wasn't quite sure that I should just buy one on the first day, especially since my mom was going to make the dress. We finally left and decided to give David's Bridal a shot, just to see what we could find. The service there sucked and after looking through the racks, we left. I really didn't know what to do and just said out loud, "someone just needs to tell me what to do." So we went back to Bridal Couture, I tried the dress on again, and we ordered it. Yippee! I'm not posting pictures for two reasons: 1) I don't want Josh to see it and 2) I want it to be a surprise for most people. Of course, this will probably change in a matter of days...I can't seem to keep anything a secret :)
