I need someone crafty....
...to help with something like this:

They are made out of fabric. I figure since the wedding is on a Thursday, nowhere near a flower shop, and the reception is on a Saturday in Boise, it would suck to have to buy flowers and attempt to transport them all over the place. Plus, I don't really want to buy 2 bouquets of lilies. I figure these would work, right? I kind of like them....

Engagement pictures!
A friend of mine, Chris, who I met during a mission trip to Mexico a few years ago, is a student at Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara. He happens to be from Elko, so I sent him a message on facebook to see if he would be interested in coming up to Boise over Christmas to shoot some engagement pictures. His response? Something along the lines of if we help pay for gas and give him a warm meal, not only would he come up to Boise, but he would consider that payment enough. Pretty sweet, huh? You can see some of his work here.

Welcome!
Alright, I thought about creating a wedding website, but I figure I don't want all of my probationers googling me and coming up with my wedding info by searching for my first and last name. So, I decided to create a blog and invite other people to read it. I thought about keep the blog itself private, so only those whom we invite can see it, but both Josh and I got worried that we would forget to invite people. Feel free to share it with others, so they will be in the loop.
More to come soon!

On Friday, Josh mentioned that he wanted to take advantage of the $2/gallon gas prices and go for a drive. This was nothing out of the ordinary, and since Brooke was at her mom's house for Thanksgiving, we took advantage of going out and about without child in tow. Saturday morning, I got up and went to the gym, then came home to figure out our route for the drive. We decided on a trip to Garden Valley via Idaho City - a nice trek through the mountains, with hope that we could get the FJ a little muddy! Josh took a little detour through some campsites to find a good off-roading spot (again, nothing out of the ordinary). He managed to take the FJ up a sweet hill and back down and asked if I wanted to get out and look around. So we did. We stood around a little bit and the following conversation ensued:
Josh: I sure do love you.
Me: I sure do love you too.
Josh: I sure want to spend the rest of my life with you.
Me: Me too.
Josh: Ok! (now imagine Josh on bended knee) Will you marry me?
Me: Oh my god, of course! (now imagine tears streaming down my face...I'm such a cry baby)
Wasn't that a fun story?! Now I get to wear my mom's original wedding ring until we have the stone put in a different setting! Woo hoo! FYI - Josh says the proposal wasn't planned or rehearsed or anything, and part of me believes him. He also wants everyone to know that he didn't propose because everyone was pressuring him :)
Here's the spot on google maps! (you might have to zoom out)
