Whitewater Reception
For all of our whitewater friends:
Please join us on Sunday, June 14th for a Staircase + Main Payette run. We will meet at 1:00 at Banks. We will have several guests with us that would also like to ride, so if you have an extra seat and PFD and would like a passenger, please bring it. Some of us will run Staircase, and some will join in at Banks.
Leave a comment below if you can come and let us know if you want a passenger or two. We may already have enough space for passengers in the McDannel flotilla.

Hotel Accommodations
For those of you who have not reserved a room at the Harrison Plaza Suites and still intend to do so, be sure to refer to our wedding rate of $79. Even though they have cancelled the remaining rooms, they will still honor our group rate.
On another note, my mom, Alana, and I got together on Sunday and finished up some final details for the reception. We're in the home stretch now - just 9 days to the wedding and 11 to the party! It's raining here this week, so think positive, non-rainy thoughts for the 13th, so we can all enjoy the sunshine in the backyard!
Now, on yet a different note, some folks are arriving early on Friday and Saturday and are looking for some fun stuff to do. I'll be taking a little time out of my lunch break over the next few days to put together a map of the area and some fun stuff we like to do. Expect that post by the end of the week.

Slight panic!
We went to get our marriage license yesterday! I was quite excited about it on my drive home yesterday after work and was reading through it at a stop light when I read something that sent me into a panic. The part where the officient writes her name, title, etc. states something like this: "I, _________, a (pastor) residing in the city of ___, in the County of _______, in the State of Idaho...."
WHAT?! Our officient lives in Indiana. Yep, I flew into panic mode. Then irritated mode. Then I-must-research-to-be-sure-this-is-ok mode. The Recorders office was closed.
I called this morning and got it all straightened out: the officient just needs to CROSS OUT "Idaho" and write in the proper state. SERIOUSLY?!
Oh well, panic mode is gone....for now!

Bridal Shower
I had three stipulations when my sister, Alana, said she wanted to throw me a bridal shower:
1) It cannot be lame
2) No lingerie
3) No stupid games
She did pretty damn well. Who knew I needed to have so much Pampered Chef stuff?! Woot! I was going to wait to post this until after I got some photos, but I haven't received any and it's we're coming up on a week of me being showered with gifts.
Thanks to everyone who came and enjoyed the sangria!

Vegas bound!
We found a killer deal on Southwest Vacations from Boise to Vegas for our birthdays again this year! We're staying at Planet Hollywood from 4/25/09 to 4/27/09 (sorry, Shauna and Chris....we really want to be at your wedding....we didn't even think about the fact that this was the date of your wedding until after we reserved the tickets. eek!).
Who wants to join us? Consider this our bachelor/bachelorette parties, if you will....
Seriously, is there any better way to spend your 30th and 31st birthdays? I think not! Bring it!

Registries
After much thought, we decided to register at Lowes.com and Target. Obviously, we don't want you to feel obliged, but everyone said we have to register, so we did.
On another note, we ordered invitations yesterday and picked out our liturgy for the big day!

1) My friend, Jamie, was in town for the weekend from (near) San Jose and helped a million times over with the flowers! Hooray! I was going t post photos, but I don't want to ruin every surprise I come up with....
2) I made a special veil. Nothing special, but no telling what it entails...I like to think it will be entertaining for some/most?
3) I officially received word tonight from my former pastor, Freda Scales, that she will officiate at our wedding! I cannot even begin to explain how excited I am to have her be present and be our Officiant!

Soooo my mom was going to make my dress....
...but we decided to go dress shopping to make sure we had the right color and style and what not for the dress she would make for me. So my mom, my sister, and I went out today to a little shop in Boise to check things out. I knew it would be kind of hard - I had a list of things I didn't want - no strapless dresses, no trains, and no crazy embellishments. It turns out that those are kind of hard to find in the wedding dress shops. Anyway, the ladies at Bridal Couture were super nice and awesome and suggested that I get a bridesmaid dress but order it in white or ivory. I found one I liked and compared to every dress I tried on thereafter. I think I decided right when I tried it on that it's what I wanted but wasn't quite sure that I should just buy one on the first day, especially since my mom was going to make the dress. We finally left and decided to give David's Bridal a shot, just to see what we could find. The service there sucked and after looking through the racks, we left. I really didn't know what to do and just said out loud, "someone just needs to tell me what to do." So we went back to Bridal Couture, I tried the dress on again, and we ordered it. Yippee! I'm not posting pictures for two reasons: 1) I don't want Josh to see it and 2) I want it to be a surprise for most people. Of course, this will probably change in a matter of days...I can't seem to keep anything a secret :)
